Robyn Goacher
Robyn E. Goacher has worked with TOF-SIMS for nearly 20 years. She has an enthusiasm for using TOF-SIMS for complex samples, having worked on quantifying manganese diffusion in gallium arsenide during her PhD at the University at Buffalo prior to establishing TOF-SIMS enzyme assays on lignocellulosic materials during her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto. As a professor at Niagara University, she continued research comparing analytical techniques (including TOF-SIMS) for lignocellulosic analysis and enjoyed teaching students about analytical chemistry, instrumentation, and materials science. In 2021, she brought her mass spectrometry expertise to Materion Electronic Materials, where she focused on trace impurity analysis via glow discharge mass spectrometry (GDMS) before bringing TOF-SIMS into the company’s analytical portfolio. She is currently a Principal Analytical Chemist at Materion, where she enjoys a variety of R&D and production optimization projects.
